Feng Chia University Board of Trustees Approves President Wei Wang's Reappointment, Leading Feng Chia University to Realize the Vision of Common Good
The Feng Chia University Board of Trustees held its 21st session of the 2nd meeting on November 21, 2024, and unanimously agreed to reappoint Professor Wei Wang as the President of Feng Chia University. Today, the Ministry of Education approved the appointment of Professor Wei Wang as the 14th President of Feng Chia University, with a term of three years from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2028.
Since taking office in 2022, President Wang has adhered to the goal of "cultivating innovative talents who can participate in the upgrading and transformation of society and industry and sustainable development," leading Feng Chia University to achieve numerous outstanding accomplishments. In the Ministry of Education's Reward Program for Private Universities and Colleges and the Higher Education Sprout Project, Feng Chia University ranked among the top two nationwide in terms of grant amounts. In the selection of the "Benchmark Program for Bilingual Learning in Colleges and Universities," Feng Chia University won the "Field Benchmark Program" due to its excellent achievements in promoting bilingual education in recent years. In addition to receiving high recognition from the Ministry of Education, Feng Chia University has also gained the trust and support of students and parents. Despite the challenges of declining birth rates, the university has maintained full enrollment, with the highest registration and retention rates among private universities.
In terms of international development, Feng Chia University established Taiwan's first Fraunhofer FIP International Innovation Applied Research Organization and continued to expand cooperation and exchanges with world-renowned universities in Australia. This includes the establishment of two new international programs: the Dual Bachelor's Degree Program in Design with the University of New South Wales, Australia, and the Dual Bachelor's Degree Program in Electrical Engineering with the University of Queensland, Australia, providing students with more diverse learning and internship opportunities.
Feng Chia University continues to perform outstandingly in various rankings. In the 2024 Global Views Monthly University Competitiveness Rankings by University Presidents, Feng Chia University was crowned the champion among non-medical comprehensive private universities. In the ranking of enterprises' favorite universities, it ranked seventh nationwide and first among private universities. Additionally, in the latest "QS World University Sustainability Rankings," Feng Chia University was once again selected and retained its position as the top private university, demonstrating the school's outstanding performance in sustainable development.
Looking ahead, the Gongshan Building is expected to be completed in 2025. This new campus construction will further support the university's teaching and research development. Under the leadership of President Wang, Feng Chia University will continue to move towards the goal of becoming an international, highly competitive, and sustainable model university.
